Biography: Corinne Bailey Rae. From Leeds, England, artist Corinne Bailey released her self-titled debut album in 2006, debuting at #1 in the UK and #4 in the USA, featuring the global hits “Put Your Records On” and “Like A Star”. It catapulted Bailey Rae into the spotlight with millions of albums sold and earned multiple award nominations, including Grammy® and Brit Awards.

The second album, The Sea was released to worldwide critical acclaim, reaching Top 5 in the UK and Top 10 in the USA and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. The subsequent EP Is This Love was awarded a Grammy® for Best R&B Performance in 2011.

Bailey Rae received a Grammy® Award for her work on Herbie Hancock’s album The River. Recent recordings have seen her work with Al Green, Claude Kelly, Esperanza Spalding, Herbie Hancock, John Legend, John Mayer, KING, Malay, Norah Jones, Paul McCartney, RZA, Salaam Remi, Stevie Wonder, The Roots, Valerie Simpson and more. Bailey Rae also has written music for film and television, including Miramax’s Venus (starring Peter O’Toole), Arcade Pictures’ The Man with the Iron Fist and, most recently, the theme song to Carnival Film & Television/Stan Lee’s Lucky Man.

Bailey Rae’s highly anticipated third studio album The Heart Speaks In Whispers (May 13, 2016) featuring “Been To The Moon,” “Green Aphrodisiac” and “The Skies Will Break”, is already garnering 4 and 5 star reviews and is one of NPR Music’s 30 Favorite Albums of 2016 (So Far). Recorded both at her studio in Leeds, and in Los Angeles at Capitol Studios, The Heart Speaks In Whispers is co-produced by Bailey Rae with Steve Brown. The album features a number of notable musicians including Paris and Amber Strother from KING, Grammy Best New Artist winner Esperanza Spalding, Pino Palladino (D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, The Who), James Gadson (Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers), Marcus Miller (Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock), and Moses Sumney (Beck).

In February 2016, Bailey Rae performed in Los Angeles for MusiCares Foundation with Pharrell, The Roots and Leon Bridges. Most recently, she released a song for NASA to celebrate the historical JUNO spacecraft entering the orbit of Jupiter; was featured alongside The Roots and Lenny Kravitz in a PSA for the International Olympic Committee; performed at various festivals in the UK and Europe, including Glastonbury; joined Lionel Richie on his UK arena tour; and was special guest supporting Stevie Wonder at his Hyde Park, London concert alongside Pharrell Williams, for a crowd of over 60,000.
