CHICAGO, IL — The weekend brings a mix of music, theater, and unique experiences across the region, with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Bobby Rush, the 6×10 Ten Minute Play Festival, Marrakesh Express saluting Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and psychic Theresa Caputo all set to entertain Chicago-area audiences.

Fans of blues and rock are in for a treat as Kenny Wayne Shepherd joins forces with legendary Bobby Rush for a special show at Silver Creek Event Center at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, Michigan.

The concert, scheduled for Friday, August 22 at 8 p.m. CST, celebrates their collaboration on the new album “Young Fashioned Ways.” Shepherd will also highlight tracks from “Dirt On My Diamonds, Vol. 2” alongside classics from “Ledbetter Heights” and “Trouble Is…”.

According to Shepherd, the evening will begin with an intimate set featuring acoustic duets with Bobby Rush before transitioning into a full-band showcase. Tickets range from $70 to $242.

6×10 Ten Minute Play Festival in Chesterton

Theater lovers can look forward to the 11th annual 6×10 Ten Minute Play Festival at 4th Street Theater in Chesterton, Indiana, beginning Friday, August 22 and running through August 31.

Founded by Linda Pauli, the festival features eight short plays selected from over 100 submissions. Once a small event struggling to attract entries, it has now grown into a nationally recognized showcase of emerging playwrights.

Tickets are priced at $20, and performances will spotlight both local talent and writers from across the U.S.

Marrakesh Express Brings Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Tribute

On Saturday, August 23, Memorial Opera House in Valparaiso, Indiana will host Marrakesh Express, a tribute act delivering the timeless harmonies of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

The group is praised for capturing the essence of CSNY with their soaring three- and four-part harmonies. The 8 p.m. performance promises a nostalgic journey through folk rock’s golden age, including fan favorites like “Teach Your Children” and “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.”

Tickets are available for $40 to $80.

Theresa Caputo Returns to Hammond Horseshoe Casino

For something completely different, TV’s “Long Island Medium” Theresa Caputo returns to The Venue at Hammond Horseshoe Casino on Friday, August 29.

Caputo, who starred in the TLC reality series from 2011 to 2019, now tours under the “Theresa Caputo Live!” banner and recently launched her new Lifetime series “Raising Spirits.” Known for her emotional readings and signature style, Caputo’s shows often sell out quickly.

Tickets for her Hammond performance range from $94 to $300.
