Porchlight Music Theatre Adds Second Night for New Faces Sing Broadway 1960

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — Popular demand has led Porchlight Music Theatre to add an extra performance of New Faces Sing Broadway 1960, the 10th anniversary edition of its acclaimed series. The show will now take place on both Tuesday, September 30, and Wednesday, October 1, at 7:30 p.m. at The Rhapsody Theater, 1328 W. Morse Ave.
Hosted by Johanna McKenzie Miller, the production is directed by Frankie Leo Bennett with music direction by Micky York. Tickets are now on sale with reserved seating available.
A Journey Through Broadway’s Golden Year
New Faces Sing Broadway 1960 takes audiences on a fast-paced, 90-minute journey through the highlights of the Broadway season of 1960. The concert features classic songs from iconic shows like Bye Bye Birdie, Camelot, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and West Side Story, among others.
The performance also includes interactive elements such as audience sing-alongs, a trivia contest with prizes, and opportunities for direct engagement, making it both a celebration and a community event.
Rising Talent in the Spotlight
This year’s cast features a roster of emerging Chicago music theatre talent, including Lisa Buhelos, Kaitlin Feely, Mary Laura Godby, Nicholas (Nickie) Ian, Nathan Kabara, Jackson Mikkelsen, Z Moore, Elonie Quick, Nicholas Roman, and Janelle Sanabria. The production stage manager is Veronica Kostka.
Over the years, alumni of the New Faces Sing Broadway series have gone on to appear on Broadway, national tours, television, and Chicago’s top stages. Notable past performers include Frankie Leo Bennett (The SpongeBob Musical), Ariana Burks (Real Women Have Curves), Blu Allen (MJ the Musical), Kyrie Courter (Sweeney Todd), and Samantha Pauly (SIX, The Great Gatsby).
