Pat Green Hosts Emotional Livestream Concert for Texas Flood Victims, Honors Lost Family Members

TEXAS — Country music star Pat Green turned unimaginable personal loss into a moment of healing on Wednesday evening, leading a powerful livestream concert to support families devastated by recent Central Texas flooding.

The event, titled “Pat Green & Friends: Central Texas Flood Relief Livestream,” took place at Globe Life Field in Arlington. With an empty stadium as his backdrop, Green performed solo and welcomed video messages and performances from artists like Miranda Lambert and Wade Bowen, all aiming to bring relief and hope to the victims.

Tragedy Behind the Music

Green revealed that he lost several members of his own family in the July 4 floods along the Guadalupe River, which have claimed at least 135 lives and left over 100 people still missing.

Among the victims were Green’s younger brother John, his wife, and their two sons. Their daughter, whose name has not been released, survived the flooding.

“I was given this thing with my voice where I can not only raise awareness, but try to change people’s minds,” Green said during a press conference before the concert. “So I’m trying to turn the sorrow into some bright light.”

Green shared that he is now committed to caring for his niece, who was the only surviving member of her immediate family.

As reported by KERA News, the emotional evening was as much a personal tribute as it was a fundraiser.

A Texas Tribute With Big Heart

The livestream opened with Green’s heartfelt message, followed by a recorded statement from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who praised the state’s resilience.

“Texans will help each other through this. We will be our quintessential selves — Texas tough and Texas resilient,” said Abbott.

During the show, Miranda Lambert offered her own message of support:

“As we know, everything is bigger in Texas — even our love. We’re praying for y’all, and we are proud to be Texans.”

Green closed with his track “Take Me Out to the Dance Hall,” dedicating it to his brother and recalling fond memories of playing at Billy Bob’s Texas, where “there would be no beer left at all because that was his M.O.”

Proceeds to Aid Relief Organizations

All funds raised from the livestream concert will benefit:

  • Kerr County Relief
  • Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR)
  • Do It for Durrett Foundation, via the Pat Green Foundation

“The one thing I know about Texas is Texas stands up for Texas,” Green said. “We all look after each other.”
