Arkansas Weather Alert: Frost Advisory Ends Sunday as Little Rock Warms Into the 70s

LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS — Arkansas is waking up to one of its coldest mornings of the season, as a Frost Advisory blankets much of the state early Sunday. But the chill won’t last long — forecasters say sunshine and 70-degree warmth are on the way for the first full week of November.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, temperatures dipped to around 33°F overnight, coating lawns, rooftops, and vehicles with a light layer of frost. The advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. for central, southern, and western Arkansas, including Little Rock, Pine Bluff, and Conway.

Frost Gives Way to Sunshine and Warmer Air

By late morning, sunshine will erase the frost and help temperatures rebound into the mid-50s, creating a calm, bright afternoon across the Arkansas River Valley.

Residents are urged to protect sensitive plants and move potted greenery indoors to prevent damage, as this may be one of the final frosty mornings before a weeklong warm-up begins.

“This morning’s frost is likely the last widespread one for a while,” said a meteorologist at the National Weather Service Little Rock office. “We’ll be well into the 70s by midweek.”

Dry, Comfortable Weather Through Midweek

The upcoming workweek looks mild and dry, with sunshine dominating and temperatures gradually climbing. Monday will reach near 66°F, while Tuesday and Wednesday bring highs between 71°F and 74°F.

By Thursday, Little Rock could see highs approaching 78°F, with light winds and no rain — perfect for yard work, travel, or early holiday preparations.

Highway conditions along I-30 and I-40 will remain ideal, with clear skies and smooth travel across much of Arkansas through midweek.

Late-Week Warmth Before a Weak Front Arrives

A weak cold front may approach the state by next weekend, bringing slightly cooler air but little to no rainfall. Meteorologists say La Niña’s influence will continue shaping Arkansas’s early winter pattern, favoring quick temperature swings and short warm spells between cool fronts.

For now, Arkansans can enjoy a string of golden November days, with warm afternoons and clear skies marking a brief pause before the next seasonal shift.
