Austin Forecast: Highs in Mid-90s With Spotty Rain Possible by Weekend

AUSTIN, Texas — Central Texas is heading into a stretch of warm and mostly dry weather, with highs climbing into the mid-90s this week and only slight rain chances returning by late weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio.

Hot, Dry Week Ahead

Skies will stay mostly clear across Austin and San Antonio, with afternoon highs ranging from the lower to mid-90s. While warm, temperatures remain just below early September averages.

“Overnight lows will dip into the mid-60s for much of the Hill Country and upper 60s to low 70s elsewhere, offering some relief,” the weather service said.

Rain chances remain minimal through Friday, generally 10 percent or less, leaving most of Central Texas dry.

Rain Chances by Sunday and Monday

Showers may return late this weekend into early next week, particularly across Uvalde, Eagle Pass, and Del Rio.

“Rain chances stay low until late weekend, when scattered showers could develop,” forecasters explained.

While widespread rainfall is not expected, forecasters recommend checking conditions if making outdoor plans Sunday and Monday.

  • Tuesday: High 94°, low 65°, mostly sunny
  • Wednesday: High 95°, low 68°, sunny
  • Thursday: High 95°, low 70°, dry conditions
  • Friday: High 93°, low 71°, mostly sunny, slim shower chance late
  • Saturday: High 93°, low 71°, slight chance of showers

“Drivers can expect mostly dry roads for the workweek, though outdoor plans this weekend may need a weather check,” officials advised.
