BTS Breaks Another K-pop Record as ‘Permission To Dance On Stage – LIVE’ Hits Billboard Top 10

SEOUL — BTS has made chart history once again. The global K-pop sensation’s new concert album, Permission To Dance On Stage – LIVE, debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200, marking yet another historic milestone in the group’s prolific career.
Live Album, Historic Ranking
Released on July 18 via BIGHIT MUSIC, the live album — a recording of BTS’s high-energy performances in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas — entered the Billboard 200 chart dated August 2 at No. 10. According to Billboard, this feat makes BTS only the third artist of the 2020s to chart a live album in the Billboard Top 10, following Taylor Swift and Metallica.
Despite containing no new studio material, the album’s debut further solidifies BTS’s status as “21st-century pop icons.”
New Records for Korean Artists
With this achievement, BTS now holds the all-time record for most Top 10 Billboard 200 entries by a Korean artist — a total of eight albums. In total, 16 of their albums have entered the chart, including six that reached No. 1, such as Proof and Map of the Soul: 7.
This marks their first official live concert album, with sales numbers showing:
- 36,000 physical album sales
- 5,000 streaming-equivalent albums (SEA)
- 2,000 track-equivalent albums (TEA)
What’s On The Album?
The Permission To Dance On Stage – LIVE album includes 22 fan-favorite tracks, spanning several of BTS’s biggest hits:
- Dynamite
- Butter
- Permission to Dance
- Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)
- Blood Sweat & Tears
It captures the full scope of BTS’s Permission To Dance On Stage tour, which featured 12 shows between 2021 and 2022 across Korea and the United States.
Group Comeback Planned for 2026
In addition to celebrating this new milestone, BTS also announced via a July 1 Weverse livestream that all members will reunite in the spring of 2026. Starting this month, each member is set to begin preparations for a new album and a global tour, signaling the group’s full comeback as a united act.
