At the age of five Marleah Liddle won her first talent show singing Labamba at her elementary school. Since then, this lively vocal powerhouse became obsessed with music and singing. While attending Columbia she studied music, vocal performance, songwriting and even dance and theater. After receiving her B.A. in music and performing arts, at Columbia College, she started her profession in Chicago. At the senior showcase, Luther Goins, from Chicago’s Actor’s Equity called Marleah “the next Judy Garland”.
This three-octave songstress not only will stun a room with show tunes, jazz, pop, rock, country, blues and many other genres of music. Her musical and vocal versatility allowed her to work with bands at venues such as and Double Door, United Center and Taste of Chicago all the way to singing with jazz bands at Drake Hotel. Bottom line, Marleah can perform anywhere with anyone.
Marleah has the wow factor on stage and in the recording studio. Taxi music an independent A&R company wrote about one of her submissions “There haven’t been enough songs with female vocals viable for listing. Marleah’s vocals put the cherry on top…fills a void in the submissions I’ve heard before!”
In 2011 Marleah started her original band Marleah and the Leverage. They have a unique and timeless sound that will affect the soul. Marleah Liddle and guitarist Klaus Luchs started writing songs in August of 2011, and never quit. Now, on the new EP Titled Ebb The Tide, Klaus’s (production engineer/guitarist/co-writer) intricate guitar arrangements and flawless tone, mixed with Marleah’s (lead vocals/co-producer/co-writer) prolific lyrics and dynamic vocals, create an unforgettable sound.
Over the past year, Nate Greene(percussionist/studio musician) and Adam Bockman (bassist/ studio musician) use their power, control and finesse to provide a steady backbone that drives each song. Bobby Scumaci, well known Chicago keyboard player, sessions musician, producer and engineer, adds a soulful and sophisticated touch that is easily heard in “This Fire”.
