Chicago, IL – Lollapalooza returns to Chicago for its 30th anniversary, after a one year hiatus due to COVID-19 and day one was a tremendous success!

While many (including myself) shared concerns of it being too soon for Lollapalooza to return while the delta variant cases surge, we’ll just have to put our trust in the science and hope that everyone in attendance was truly vaccinated or tested negative, a lot to hope for, I know.

The day started smoothly with attendees being allowed to enter roughly ten minutes early to allow the screeners and bag checkers to process the fans through. So the fans had a little over an hour for selfies around Grant Park or to take in the beauty that is Chicago before the first artists took to the stage.

Tristan Simone and DJ Mel were the first two artists to perform, getting this whole fest started and DJ Mel kicked the beats off in a great way, pulling in more festival goers by the minute.

6:30pm – 7:15pm – Swung over to the Grubhub stage for Ashe’s performance. The genuine personality of Ashlyn Rae Willson who goes by the name of Ashe was so wonderfully evident as she performed very emotional songs for her fans which included hits, “Till Forever Falls Apart” and “Moral Of The Story” and a couple covers of “Time After Time” and Queen’s “Somebody To Love”. She expressed her concern about not messing it up and how important it was to her. Ashe goes on tour starting next month! Visit her site here https://ashe-music.com/ for tour dates and more!
