Oasis Dedicate “Live Forever” to Minneapolis Shooting Victims During MetLife Concert

EAST RUTHERFORD, New JerseyOasis paid tribute to victims of the recent Minneapolis school shooting by dedicating their performance of “Live Forever” during Sunday night’s concert at MetLife Stadium.

Liam Gallagher’s Onstage Dedication

Before launching into the song, Liam Gallagher addressed the crowd, saying:

“I want to dedicate this next tune to the kiddies in Minneapolis. ‘Live Forever.’”

The dedication drew loud cheers and applause from the audience, many of whom held up lights in solidarity.

Remembering the Minneapolis Tragedy

The tribute comes just days after a gunman opened fire from outside a window at Annunciation Church and School in Minneapolis during morning mass on August 27.

The attack left two children dead and 18 others injured, shocking the community and prompting national calls for safety reforms in schools and places of worship.

A Song of Resilience

Oasis’ “Live Forever”, first released in 1994, has long been considered an anthem of hope and endurance. Its message carried additional weight as fans reflected on the lives lost and families impacted in Minneapolis.

Earlier in their reunion tour, Oasis also dedicated performances of “Live Forever” to Ozzy Osbourne and Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota, who was killed in a car crash.

The emotional tribute underscored how music often serves as both remembrance and healing during times of tragedy.
