COLUMBUS, OHIO — The summer soundtrack of Columbus gets a classical twist as the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra returns with its 13th annual free concert series, bringing chamber music to open-air spaces and lush gardens throughout August.

The series promises three free performances at two iconic venues — Alum Creek Park North Amphitheater and Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens — giving music lovers a chance to enjoy symphonic classics in scenic surroundings.

A Summer Staple With a Refined Soundtrack

With music director David Danzmayr conducting 37 world-class musicians, the ProMusica series continues its tradition of offering admission-free concerts designed for both devoted classical fans and casual listeners alike.

Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets to enjoy an elegant yet accessible concert experience under the stars.

    • Elgar’s “Salut D’Amour”

    “The Pastoral Symphony” will include:

    • Mendelssohn’s “Hebrides Overture”
    • Strauss’ Horn Concerto No. 1 (featuring principal horn player Stephanie Blaha)
    • Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, “Pastoral”
  • August 8 at 8 p.m. – Franklin Park Conservatory
    Encore performance of “A Night of Tango & Romance”
