Quiet Riot Rocks Van Alstyne with Free Concert & Signed Guitar Giveaway

VAN ALSTYNE, Texas – The Sounds of Summer concert series is set to deliver a high-voltage night of rock as legendary heavy metal band Quiet Riot takes the stage in Van Alstyne’s central social district tonight, August 9, alongside local favorite Peddletrain.

Bassist Rudy Sarzo amped up excitement with a video message to fans: “What’s up Van Alstyne, Texas? We are ready to ‘Bang Your Heads!’”

A Free Night of Rock and Community Spirit

The concert kicks off around 7:30 p.m., promising an electrifying setlist from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame–worthy icons known for hits like “Cum On Feel the Noize” and “Metal Health.”

The event is free and open to the public, with attendees encouraged to bring lawn chairs for a comfortable night under the summer sky.

Bethany Budgewater, president of the Van Alstyne Police Association, called the booking “super cool” for the city, adding that it’s a rare chance to see a major rock act in the area without the price tag of a stadium ticket.

Win a Signed Guitar — And Support a Good Cause

In addition to the music, fans will have the chance to win a matte black electric guitar signed by Quiet Riot. Raffle tickets are available both at the show and online, with all proceeds benefiting the new Heroes Park, an all-inclusive playground planned in front of the public safety building.

Budgewater noted that “every ticket sold helps us build a space where all kids can play together, no matter their abilities.”

The raffle winner will be announced later this fall during the Van Alstyne Police Gala.

Final Nights of the Sounds of Summer

After tonight’s performance, only one concert remains in the 2025 Sounds of Summer lineup. Organizers are encouraging music lovers to catch this finale stretch while it lasts.
