Biography: Spotlighted on Pandora’s Artists to Watch list for the new year, 2017 is already proving to be a career year for singer-songwriter RaeLynn.
Following the highly anticipated release of her Warner Bros. Records/Warner Music Nashville debut single “Love Triangle” to the overwhelming response of critics, the stunner has sold over 100,000 copies before even reaching the Top 30 on the Country singles chart.
“We all come from our own love triangles, I guess you could say,
RaeLynn shares. “I’m so proud of this song; it’s my favorite song I’ve ever written.”
Lauded as one of Rolling Stone Country’s Best 25 Songs of 2016, the heartbreakingly raw video for “Love Triangle” was released exclusively to PEOPLE.com and CMT and is striking a visceral reaction with Country radio and awestruck fans across the country.
“There’s a lyric about having a little white suitcase. I remember waiting on the front step for my dad, with a little white suitcase that had Minnie Mouse on it,” she recalls. “Every part of that song is me.”
RaeLynn is ready to set the road on fire with former tourmate and current labelmate Blake Shelton on his 13-city DOING IT TO COUNTRY SONGS TOUR which kicks off in Bakersfield, CA on February 16. She’s set to release her long-awaited debut album WILDHORSE (http://smarturl.it/wildhorse) on March 24.
The feisty 22-year-old has been one of the highest selling female country artists, alongside industry heavyweights Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood, with her stellar songs selling over 1 million digital copies and being streamed over 94 million times.
Her devoted fans continued to grow as she has performed in front of nearly 1.5 million people since 2015, including four arena tours: Miranda Lambert’s CERTIFIED PLATINUM TOUR and ROADSIDE BARS AND PINK GUITARS TOUR, the RIOT TOUR with Rascal Flatts, and BLAKE SHELTON PRESENTED BY GILDAN 2016 TOUR. Adding to her already impressive tour resume, RaeLynn played nearly 200 shows in 2016.
Her Gold-certified hit “God Made Girls” was nominated for a 2016 Radio Disney Music Award for Favorite Country Song and she received her first ever Academy of Country Music Award nomination for New Female Vocalist of the Year in 2016.
“God Made Girls” was impressively the highest charting debut single by a solo female that year upon its release (Billboard & Country Aircheck) and reached #7 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The awe-inspiring music video has accumulated over 26 million views and earned RaeLynn a pair of CMT Music Award nominations for Female Video of the Year and Breakthrough Video of the Year.
Outside of her art, RaeLynn has stood to be a steady voice for those impacted by Type 1, Type 2, and juvenile diabetes, after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 12. Championing a cause so near to her heart, she recently partnered with Novo Nordisk, a world leader in diabetes care, as a spokesperson for their Patient Ambassador Education Program. In 2016, she founded the RaeLynn Diabetes Fund to offer support, empowerment, and a special community for all of those facing diabetes.
