Tokyo based human beatboxer / multivocalist (artist’s description) Hirofumi Seino aka REATMO was the star of the evening at Wicker Park’s Double Door which once again hosted the annual Japan Night on March22. REATMO produced a wide variety of sound by looping his voice through an array of electronics running Ableton Live, Lemur app on iPad, and a Korg MIDI controller.

The crowd became energized the moment he stepped on stage and had fans dancing early into his set. He projects a dynamic visual presence in addition to his amazing vocal talents. At times it was difficult to believe that there was not a full band with him on stage!

The Tuesday night Chicago Japan Nite performance was part of a mini-tour which included Brooklyn, Baltimore and ends this weekend on the west coast. Japan Nite’s purpose is to showcase both top name and emerging Japanese musical talent to American audiences.

REATMO is a Japanese Human Beatboxer / multivocalist gaining a reputation for his dynamic live presence. While running Ableton Live, Lemur app on iPad, and a Korg MIDI controller, he can loop and manipulate sounds made entirely by his mouth.

Reatmo won the Beatbox Battle Championship in Boston at the age of 19, and he hasn’t looked back since. After years of perfecting skills and incorporating new technology for a live setup, Reatmo is ready to bring you a unique audio-visual experience.

Recent highlights include a performance at MIHARAYASUHIRO AW15-16 runway in Paris, and connecting with Maroon 5 who reached out after listening to Reatmo’s cover versions.
