About Red Line Tap
Red Line Tap is an eclectic music room in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. Over the years, The Red Line has developed a well-curated lineup of music, offering new bands a opportunity on a credited stage and an energetic and passionate audience in the big city, as well as hosting shows of well known National acts who love playing to an intimate room.
At the Red Line Tap you will often find yourself wrapped up watching a show on our stage, while drinking from our great selection of domestic, craft and imported beers, with several beers from Chicago and the Midwest, in addition to one of the northsides biggest and finest whiskey selections, over 100 different types of Whiskey for you to choose from
How far back the tavern goes has yet to be established, but we’ve had personal reports of people visiting the “7006 club” and the “Rogers Park Boating Club” since the early 1900′s. “Roy’s” was a well known tavern to neighborhood patrons as well fans to the north of the chicago city limits. And for all the years he ran his bar, Roy was a welcoming host to all who found his threshold. For years, the action-packed pool table at Roy’s drew as many fans as the old fashioned bowling machine. After Roy Kawaguchi passed away in 1996, the long popular tap was expanded, refurbished, cleaned, overhauled, painted and reenergized as the The Red Line Tap, so named because of its proximity to the Red Line train, its track, and its route name.
