It may have been a foggy night on Chicago’s Navy Pier, but this was soon forgotten about as soon as people set foot on the Spirit of Chicago for the Chicago Country Cruise. A fantastic night shared by people of all ages, from those wearing Converse to Cowboy Boots.
Drew Baldridge quickly got the party started while people were boarding. The night started as it meant to go on. Drew got the crowd nicely warmed up, doing a mixture of his own and cover songs. The crowd were eager to sing along to the likes of “Wagon Wheel”. Ending his set with “BYOB’, the crowd were ready to get the boat rocking.
As the cruise left the dock, Jack Ingram kept the party going. In true country fashion, each song told a story, but what really grabbed the crowd’s attention was the scene-settings between each song when Jack navigated us from the background of one song to the next. You knew exactly what each song was about, from his thoughts to every emotion that resulted in the song being written and first performed. Jack bared his sole with stories about his struggles with his father to being away from his wife when on the road. The fun, music and story telling continued right up until the boat docked.
