The Who Announce Final U.S. Farewell Concert in Palm Springs This October
PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA — Legendary rock band The Who has announced one final concert for the North American leg of their farewell tour, giving fans one last chance to see the iconic group live on stage. The performance is scheduled for October 1 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California.
The announcement comes after the band rescheduled shows in Philadelphia and Atlantic City earlier this summer due to illness. With those performances now back on track, The Who confirmed the added Palm Springs date will mark the official end of their U.S. farewell tour, titled “The Song Is Over – North America Farewell Tour.”
A Historic Career Bidding Farewell
The Who’s decision to step back from touring marks the end of a monumental era in rock history. Since their debut in the 1960s, the band has become one of the most influential groups in music, known for timeless classics such as “My Generation,” “Pinball Wizard,” “Baba O’Riley,” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”
Over the course of their career, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend have led the band to global acclaim, with more than 2,000 live performances, 17 Top Ten albums, and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Daltrey reflected on the farewell tour, saying, “It’s not easy to end the big part of my life that touring with The Who has been. Thanks for being there for us and look forward to seeing you one last time.”
Townshend added, “This tour will be about fond memories, love and laughter. Make sure you join in.”
