Wisconsin Police Investigating Sexual Assault After Woman Reports Being Threatened at Gunpoint in Madison

MADISON, WISCONSIN — Police are investigating a late-night sexual assault after a woman was found screaming for help on Brentwood Parkway Thursday night, telling officers she had been threatened at gunpoint and assaulted by an unknown man.

Witness Found the Victim Screaming in the Street

According to the Madison Police Department, the incident unfolded around 10:15 p.m., when a witness spotted the woman yelling for help in the middle of Brentwood Parkway. Officers arrived shortly after and immediately transported her to a hospital for care.

Police say the woman reported she had been sexually assaulted shortly before being found.

Victim Says Armed Suspect Forced Her Into a Vehicle

Investigators say the woman told them she had been walking on Spenser Lane when a vehicle pulled up beside her. A man inside allegedly pointed a gun and forced her into the SUV, where the assault took place.

She later escaped near the 2400 block of Brentwood Parkway, where she was discovered by a passerby.

The suspect is described as a Black man, 30 to 40 years old, with dreadlocks, wearing shorts and a hoodie, and driving a dark-colored SUV. Neither the suspect nor the vehicle has been identified.

Police Asking the Public for Information

Detectives are urging anyone who may have seen the vehicle or suspect in the Brentwood Parkway or Spenser Lane areas to contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 266-6014.

The investigation remains active, and police say no further details will be released at this time.
