16-Year-Old Wisconsin Girl Dies in Columbia County Crash, Speed Suspected

WYOCENA, WI — A 16-year-old girl from Pardeeville lost her life early Sunday morning after her vehicle veered off the road and overturned in Columbia County.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 7:30 a.m. on West Bush Road near Groth Road. Deputies reported finding the vehicle upside down after it collided with a tree.

Crash Details

Investigators said the car had been traveling westbound on West Bush Road when it lost control, entered a ditch, and struck a tree, causing it to flip over.

The girl, who was the sole occupant, was wearing a seatbelt but was found unresponsive in the wreckage. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

Speed a Contributing Factor

Authorities believe speed played a role in the crash, though the exact circumstances are still under investigation.

The victim’s name has not been released, as the family is still being notified.
