Live Music Sparks Summer Tourism Boom in Nashville, Survey Ranks It America’s Most Popular Big City

NASHVILLE, TN — Fueled by a powerhouse live music calendar and major summer festivals, Nashville is setting new records for tourism in 2025 — with visitor numbers, hotel stays, and national favorability all on the rise.
According to the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., the city saw record-breaking attendance and visitor spending during both the “Let Freedom Sing!” July 4th celebration and the iconic CMA Fest. The surge is being directly attributed to Nashville’s nonstop live music offerings, which continue to anchor its status as a world-class destination.
Music Events Leading the Charge
Deana Ivey, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp., said the numbers show the power of the city’s cultural capital.
“This summer’s record-breaking numbers reflect not only the strength of our signature events and concert calendar, but also the city’s ability to deliver an unforgettable experience for visitors,” Ivey noted.
July’s “Let Freedom Sing!” event and the CMA Fest are among the city’s biggest tourism draws, bringing in fans from across the U.S. and beyond for days of performances by chart-topping country, pop, and Americana artists.
Hotel Demand Up Across the Board
The data backs up the buzz: Hotel demand increased 3.8% year-over-year in May, and rose another 1.2% in June, based on countywide tourism data. Industry leaders say the steady growth shows Nashville isn’t just a weekend getaway — it’s a mainstay in national travel plans.
America’s Most Admired Big City? Survey Says Yes
Adding to the excitement is Nashville’s standing in a recent national survey, which named it the most favorably viewed large city in America. That perception, officials say, translates directly into visitor interest and repeat tourism.
The combination of year-round concerts, major music festivals, and a reputation for friendly, memorable experiences is making Music City an unbeatable summer destination — and setting a high bar for other entertainment hubs nationwide.
