Chicago Police Search For Burglary Suspect After Break-Ins In Mayfair Neighborhood

CHICAGO — Police are investigating a series of early morning burglaries in the Mayfair neighborhood on the city’s Northwest Side, after a man forced his way into three homes within an hour on Sunday, Aug. 30.
Break-Ins Reported Around 2 A.M.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the break-ins happened between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., with the suspect entering homes through back doors and kitchen windows.
Once inside, the man stole cash, cigarettes, and cellphones, police said.
The reported incidents include:
- 2:14–2:20 a.m. — 4600 block of North Kennicott Avenue
- 2:52 a.m. — 4600 block of North Kasson Avenue
Suspect Description Released
Police described the suspect as a man with a slender build, dark hair, and a thin mustache. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue pants, and white gym shoes.
Authorities are asking neighbors to remain vigilant and check security footage for suspicious activity.

Community Urged To Stay Alert
The burglaries have raised concern among residents of Mayfair, a largely residential neighborhood where neighbors are now on edge. Police have stepped up patrols and are urging residents to lock doors and windows, leave outdoor lights on, and report suspicious individuals immediately.
