Oregon Man Arrested After 20 School Chromebooks Stolen From Henley High

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Authorities say a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at Henley High School that left thousands of dollars in losses, including dozens of missing Chromebooks.
Burglary and Theft Reported
According to the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the school on Friday, Sept. 5, after staff reported a break-in at a detached classroom.
Surveillance footage allegedly showed two men entering the building overnight and stealing 20 Google Chromebooks along with a lifelike training doll used in parenting classes. Authorities estimated the total loss at roughly $6,500.
Suspect Identified and Arrested
Investigators worked with the Oregon State Police to identify one suspect as Brandon James Brown, 27. Over the weekend, deputies reportedly recovered 18 of the stolen Chromebooks.
On Monday, Sept. 8, deputies said Brown was spotted wearing the same clothing captured in the surveillance video. He was arrested and booked into the Klamath County Jail on charges of:
- Second-degree burglary
- First-degree theft
- Second-degree criminal trespassing
- Unlawful entry into a motor vehicle
Ongoing Investigation
The sheriff’s office credited cooperation with OSP troopers for the swift identification and recovery of school property. The investigation into the second suspect allegedly involved remains ongoing.
