Kentucky Man Struck and Killed by Train in Southern Indiana

GEORGETOWN, Ind. — A 30-year-old Kentucky man has died after being hit by a train in southern Indiana early Saturday morning, according to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.

Incident Near Railway Overpass

Deputies responded around 2:22 a.m. to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train near 9535 State Road 64 in Georgetown.

When officers arrived, they found Camden Reed, of Crestwood, Kentucky, lying on the ground near the railway overpass. Officers immediately began life-saving measures until emergency crews arrived.

Victim Dies From Injuries

Reed was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances that led to Reed being on the tracks.

Investigation Ongoing

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident. Officials have not said whether foul play is suspected or if the incident is being treated as accidental.
