Wisconsin Man Dies in Marinette County Motorcycle Crash

NIAGARA, Wis. — A 54-year-old Wisconsin man has died following a single motorcycle crash in Marinette County, according to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office.

Crash Details

Deputies were called to the scene around 5:49 p.m. Saturday after reports of a crash on Wishman Road, about a quarter mile east of U.S. Highway 141 in the town of Niagara.

Authorities said the motorcycle, driven by Christopher L. Recla of Niagara, was traveling north when he lost control and crashed.

Victim Identified

Recla, who was not wearing a helmet, died from his injuries at the scene, according to the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Factors in the Crash

Investigators believe failure to negotiate a corner and failure to maintain control contributed to the crash.

Agencies Responding

Along with Marinette County deputies, crews from the Niagara Fire Department, Niagara Rescue, and Town and Country Towing assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office.
