Kentucky State Troopers Assist in Investigation of Lyon County High School Threat

EDDYVILLE, Ky. — Troopers and detectives with the Kentucky State Police (KSP) responded Friday to Lyon County High School after a reported threat on campus, prompting a large-scale search of the school buildings.

State Police Called to Campus

According to a KSP press release on Sept. 26, officers worked alongside local agencies to secure the school grounds.

Authorities confirmed there were no injuries to students or staff, and investigators emphasized that no shots were fired during the incident.

Search With K9 Units

Police teams, including an explosives detection K9, swept Lyon County High School and nearby facilities. No weapons, explosives, or active threats were discovered during the search.

Reunification Plans for Families

The Lyon County School District announced that reunification instructions were being shared with parents and guardians so students could be safely released.

KSP troopers remained on-site Friday evening to assist with the reunification process and provide extra reassurance to families.
