Miami Woman Arrested for Drugging Men and Stealing Rolex Watches in ‘Bad Date’ Scheme, Police Say

MIAMI, Florida — A 25-year-old woman with a history of similar arrests is back behind bars after police say she lured men from Miami bars to apartments and hotels, drugged them, and stole their luxury watches and cash.
Authorities identified the suspect as Angelina Chenel Esty, who now faces charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and grand theft between $20,000–$100,000, according to the Miami Police Department.
The Latest Rolex Theft
The most recent incident took place on August 9 at an apartment on Brickell Bay Drive.
Police say a man reported waking up to discover his $20,000 Rolex, $4,000 in cash, and a friend’s $1,000 replica Rolex missing after meeting Esty and another woman at the Blackbird Ordinary bar earlier that night.
The victim told investigators he recalled little from the evening and suspected he had been drugged. Detectives later obtained surveillance footage showing Esty at the bar and confirmed the victim identified her in a photo lineup.
Investigators also noted an unauthorized $500 Cash App transaction made from the victim’s phone during the night.
Pattern of Similar Crimes
Detectives say Esty is a “known offender” with prior arrests for similar thefts in Miami-Dade County:
- March 10: A man met Esty at E11EVEN nightclub, invited her back to his apartment, and woke up sick to find his Rolex missing.
- March 22: Two men met Esty and another woman at Blackbird Ordinary, later discovering an $11,000 Rolex, $8,000 cash, and sunglasses missing — but Esty’s ID left behind in a purse.
- April 21: A man met Esty at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, passed out after one drink she handed him, and woke up to find his $20,000 Rolex and $10,000 diamond bracelet gone.
Police say these thefts follow a nearly identical pattern involving alcohol, drugging, and high-value watch thefts.
Arrest and Bond
Esty was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on $5,000 bond, which she posted on Friday. She is scheduled for an arraignment hearing on October 24.
The case adds to a growing trend of so-called “bad date thefts” in Miami, where victims often lose tens of thousands of dollars in luxury goods overnight. For more updates on high-profile crime stories, stay with ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
