Lexington Police Searching for Shooter After Man Found Seriously Wounded Near Ascot Park

LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY — Police in Lexington are searching for a suspect in a Monday night shooting that left one man seriously injured near Ascot Park, according to officials.

The Lexington Police Department said officers were called to the area around 6:30 p.m. after reports of gunfire near Armstrong Mill Road and River Park Drive.

Man Found with Gunshot Wound, Taken to Hospital

When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews provided on-site care before transporting him to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity or any details about a possible suspect or motive.

“Our officers are continuing to investigate all leads and review nearby surveillance footage,” police officials said in a statement Tuesday morning.

Police Ask for Public’s Help

Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward. Witnesses or residents in the Ascot Park and Armstrong Mill Road area are asked to check security footage or doorbell cameras for anything suspicious around the time of the shooting.
