Meet Kaisley Hernandez: The 4-Year-Old Girl Inspiring Millions With Her Prosthetic Journey

LUBBOCK, TEXAS — At just four years old, Kaisley Hernandez is capturing hearts across the country. Her journey with a custom prosthetic arm — paired with her boundless energy and courage — is now inspiring millions online, thanks to a viral TikTok video that documented the emotional moment she got fitted for her very first device.
“She can pretty much do everything by herself… there are certain things she can’t,” said her mom, Destiny Hernandez, in an interview with Everything Lubbock. “But if she can’t do it, she asks for help. If not, she’s trying to figure it out on her own.”
Unicorns, Gymnastics, and Unstoppable Spirit
Kaisley’s prosthetic arm isn’t just functional — it’s a reflection of her personality. Designed with a unicorn-themed aesthetic, the colorful arm has allowed her to try gymnastics, ride her bike, and embrace challenges with confidence.
Even as she prepares to start kindergarten, Kaisley shows the kind of resilience that inspires both children and adults alike. Her story isn’t just about medical technology — it’s about self-belief, parenting, and strength through adversity.
Facing Bullies, Finding Strength
Despite her joyful personality, Kaisley’s journey hasn’t been without pain. Destiny shared that her daughter experienced bullying for the first time earlier this year — a moment that was difficult for both of them.
“I knew it was coming,” Destiny said. “I just didn’t think it would hit this hard. There was a group of little girls eyeing her… and they were just pointing and laughing at her. She became really upset.”
But even through those moments, Destiny is focused on building her daughter’s self-worth, confidence, and independence — tools she’ll carry for a lifetime.
Support Through Community and Kindness
To help Kaisley continue to explore more activities and hobbies, the family launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to purchase additional attachments for her prosthetic arm. These new tools would allow her to try different grips, motion-based features, and sport-specific extensions.
As the video continues to spread, messages of support, encouragement, and donations have poured in from strangers touched by Kaisley’s strength.
