Florida ICE Agent Arrested for DUI Tries To Avoid Jail by Racially Profiling Cop: ‘I’m Law Enforcement, Dude!’

MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA — A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent is under fire after bodycam footage revealed he attempted to use his badge — and racial profiling — to escape a DUI arrest in the Florida Keys.

Authorities say 42-year-old Scott Deiseroth, an ICE agent, was stopped in mid-August after driving recklessly with his two children in the car. When tested, his blood alcohol level was .17, more than twice Florida’s legal limit.

‘Are You Haitian?’: ICE Agent Turns Confrontation Racial

Newly released bodycam footage from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office shows Deiseroth initially calm but quickly growing defensive as deputies began questioning him. When one officer spoke with a distinct accent, Deiseroth asked, “Are you Haitian?” — a question critics have since called racially charged and inappropriate.

The sheriff’s deputy ignored the remark and continued the arrest, but Deiseroth persisted, telling officers, “I’m law enforcement, dude!” and pleading for leniency.

Despite multiple attempts to leverage his federal position, officers proceeded with the DUI arrest. According to the report, Deiseroth’s two children were later picked up by his ex-wife.

Footage Sparks Online Outrage and Mockery

The footage, shared widely on social media and uploaded by The Crimepiece, has gone viral, with many viewers mocking the agent’s hypocrisy. One commenter noted the irony of his pleas, writing:

“ ‘I just wanna go home, guys.’ ‘Don’t separate me from my family.’ These phrases are golden coming from an ICE agent.”

Another viewer added,

“Dude behaves exactly how you’d expect an ICE agent to behave — arrogant until the handcuffs come out.”

Others applauded the sheriff’s deputies for not backing down when faced with pressure from a federal officer.

“An ICE agent scared to get in a police car and be held accountable — poetic justice,” one comment read.

Case Still Pending, Job Status Unclear

Deiseroth’s case remains pending in Monroe County, and authorities have not yet disclosed whether the DUI arrest will impact his employment with ICE or the Department of Homeland Security.

Critics say the incident underscores deep issues of accountability within federal law enforcement — especially when officers use their authority to intimidate others or deflect blame.
