Jeffersontown Man Found Shot Dead in Apartment Chair; Police Say Suspect Knew the Victim and Is Still at Large
JEFFERSONTOWN, KENTUCKY — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a man dead inside a Jeffersontown apartment Wednesday afternoon, with the suspected gunman still on the run.
According to the Jeffersontown Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly after noon to the 2400 block of Arbor Pointe Drive, located just behind the Target on Stony Brook Drive.
Victim Found Dead at Scene
When officers arrived, they discovered the apartment door open and the victim slumped in a chair with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel confirmed that the man was already deceased when they arrived.
Police have not yet released the victim’s identity but said he appears to be in his late 20s or early 30s.
Suspect Believed to Be Known to Victim
Authorities said early evidence suggests the victim and shooter likely knew each other, and the shooting was not a random act.
“At this time, we do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the general public,” said Maj. Brian Foreman of the Jeffersontown Police Department.
No arrests have been made as investigators continue searching for the suspect.
