Fond du Lac Police Capture Suspect After Hours-Long SWAT Standoff; Shelter-in-Place Lifted
FOND DU LAC, WISCONSIN — A tense SWAT standoff that prompted a shelter-in-place order for residents on Primrose Lane in Fond du Lac ended Sunday morning after police confirmed the suspect is now in custody.
According to the Fond du Lac Police Department, officers and tactical teams from both city police and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office surrounded a home in the 1000 block of Primrose Lane during an active police operation that lasted several hours.
Residents Ordered to Shelter During Active Scene
Police initially issued the shelter-in-place alert early Sunday as heavily armed SWAT units responded to a situation described as “active and ongoing.”
Authorities urged residents in the immediate area to remain indoors and instructed the public to avoid Primrose Lane while negotiators worked to safely resolve the situation.
An Action 2 News team at the scene reported seeing multiple police and SWAT vehicles, including tactical officers positioned around the neighborhood as the standoff continued.
Suspect Apprehended, Area Declared Safe
After several hours, Fond du Lac Police confirmed the suspect was taken into custody without further incident, and the shelter-in-place order was lifted.
