Milwaukee Shooting Leaves Iowa County Pharmacy Student Dead; Suspect in Custody
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal Milwaukee shooting Tuesday night as 26-year-old Ariel Spillner, a resident of Arena in Iowa County and a student at Concordia University Wisconsin, according to officials and media reports.
The shooting occurred around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday near 39th Street and Lancaster Avenue, according to Milwaukee police. Spillner died at the scene, while a 31-year-old man suffered nonfatal gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police Say One Person Is in Custody
Investigators said one person has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting, though their name has not been released. The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing potential charges.

The university announced that a memorial gathering will be held Thursday, November 6, at noon in Pharmacy Room 147, with pastoral and counseling support available for students.
