Indiana State Police Roll Out Sleek New Fleet of Dodge Durangos and Ford Mustangs

INDIANA — The Indiana State Police are debuting a bold new look on highways this week with the rollout of newly upgraded patrol vehicles — a mix of Dodge Durangos and Ford Mustangs designed to blend retro inspiration with modern performance.

According to officials, the fleet refresh pays homage to ISP’s classic 1960s color scheme, featuring deep blue bodies with white roofs, giving the vehicles a distinctive, old-school feel that’s instantly recognizable on the road.

New Design Honors ISP’s Heritage

The updated patrol vehicles proudly display the word “TROOPER” near the hood and come equipped with black-rimmed wheels and black deer guards, giving them a rugged, commanding appearance.

Officials said the decision to bring back the vintage-inspired design was intentional — part of an effort to honor the department’s long-standing legacy while equipping troopers with the latest in safety and performance technology.

“We wanted something that reflects both our history and our commitment to modernization,” an ISP spokesperson said. “These vehicles are built to handle the demands of today’s patrol work while reminding people of where we came from.”
