Wisconsin Man Kills Father During Violent Argument as Ex-Girlfriend and Stepdaughter Watches in Horror
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN — A 28-year-old Milwaukee man is facing a first-degree homicide charge after allegedly shooting his father in the head during a violent confrontation witnessed by his ex-girlfriend, who was also the victim’s stepdaughter. Authorities say the deadly shooting unfolded during a chaotic argument in a residential gangway on Milwaukee’s South 16th Street.
Argument Over Jealousy Quickly Turns Violent, Witness Says
According to court documents, officers responded to the 1900 block of South 16th Street around 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 13, where they found Miguel Arocho, the father, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A witness — who is Ocasio’s ex-girlfriend and Arocho’s stepdaughter — told investigators she had spent the afternoon at Walmart with a male friend. When they returned to the home, Miguel Ocasio, her ex-boyfriend and Arocho’s biological son, pulled up and accused her of being romantically involved with the friend.
The witness said she exited the car to protect her friend because she “knew her ex carried a gun.”
A heated argument ensued. According to the affidavit:
“Her ex pushed her in the face with his hand
and continued arguing with her.”
That’s when her stepfather, Arocho, came downstairs to intervene.
Witness Says Ocasio Fired “Warning Shots” Before Shooting His Father
The witness told police that the three of them stood in the gangway as tempers escalated. She tried to calm the situation but could not stop Ocasio from pulling out his firearm.
She said she pushed Ocasio onto the sidewalk to defuse the moment, but he fired two warning shots that did not strike anyone. Arocho then ran briefly inside the home, but came back out unarmed.
She said she heard two more shots — and when she got up from the ground, she saw that her stepfather had been hit.
“She did not see anything in her stepdad’s hands,”
police wrote in the affidavit.
After the shooting, Ocasio fled the scene on foot. He was arrested the next day.
Ocasio Admits to Killing His Father but Claims He Was “Scared”
During an interview with detectives, Ocasio allegedly confessed to shooting his father. He also told police he only fired because he believed his father was reaching for a gun — even though he admitted he never actually saw a weapon.
According to the affidavit, Ocasio said his father had “threatened him,” prompting him to fire a warning shot. He claimed he fired again after believing his father was reaching.
In his own words:
“He is not going to let anyone harm him.”
Prosecutors say Ocasio later admitted he did not see anything in his father’s hands before firing the fatal shots.
Motive Tied to Long-Standing Tensions and Family Conflict
Ocasio told investigators he first met his ex-girlfriend years ago when his father married her mother, forming an unusual and strained family dynamic.
Court records indicate the argument that led to the killing centered on jealousy, anger, and long-standing personal tension — not a sudden threat.
Investigators found no firearm on Arocho and no evidence that he posed an immediate danger to his son during the final moments of the confrontation.
Ocasio Held on High Cash Bond as Case Moves Forward
Ocasio is being held in the Milwaukee County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond. He is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 25.
The homicide charge includes a dangerous weapon modifier, significantly increasing potential sentencing penalties.
If convicted, Ocasio faces life imprisonment.
As Milwaukee police continue to investigate the deadly family dispute, the case highlights how quickly personal conflict can escalate into irreversible tragedy. For continuing updates on court cases, community news, and local crime reports, visit ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
