Ankeny Christian Academy Teacher Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges

ANKENY, IOWA – A longtime teacher at Ankeny Christian Academy has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies after being accused of inappropriately touching a student.

Authorities identified the suspect as Michael Scott Burrows, 50, who now faces three counts of lascivious acts with a child. Each count is classified as a Class C felony under Iowa law.
Burrows was taken into custody on Wednesday and is currently being held without bail at the Polk County Jail.
Investigation Timeline
According to the Ankeny Police Department, the investigation began after officers received a tip on August 8 regarding allegations against Burrows. Police say the incidents occurred between August 2021 and May 2022, during his time as a band teacher at Ankeny Christian Academy.
The alleged victim was a student at the school during that period.
