Caught-on-Cam: Driver With 7th DUI Crashes Into Hampshire Home as Family Eats Dinner

HAMPSHIRE, Ill. — A shocking crash in Hampshire left a family shaken Monday night after a vehicle slammed into their home during dinner. The driver, identified as Nazim Useni of Elk Grove Village, is now facing his seventh DUI charge, according to police.

Family Narrowly Escapes Injury

The terrifying incident, captured on camera, unfolded as Adam Dziubinski, his wife, and their three young children — ages 2, 7, and 1 month — were sitting down for dinner. Within seconds, a vehicle barreled through a fence, struck a fire hydrant, and smashed into their living room, coming to a stop just 10 feet from the dining table.

“We were absolutely stunned. We had no idea what was going on. You don’t expect a car to be barreling through your house and wrecking everything that you see,” Dziubinski told NBC Chicago.

Despite the destruction, no one inside the home was injured. Video shows the driver attempting to reverse as Dziubinski shouted in shock.

Driver’s Record and Charges

Authorities later identified the driver as Nazim Useni, who was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence. This marks his seventh DUI case, according to NBC 5 Investigates.

Useni’s history includes traffic violations dating back to the 1970s in DuPage County. Most recently, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison in 2020 for DUI but was granted parole in March 2025.

Dziubinski expressed disbelief that Useni was behind the wheel again. “[It] is absolutely mind boggling that he’s still in a car, still driving, still out of jail after getting caught with DUIs six times but here we are dealing with this,” he said.

Authorities Stress Prevention

The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office declined to comment directly on Useni’s case but emphasized the dangers of impaired driving.

“Every DUI-related death or accident is entirely preventable,” the office said in a statement. “Last year, our office prosecuted more than 1,300 new felony and misdemeanor DUI cases… If you drive under the influence, you will be held accountable.”

The Hampshire crash highlights the serious risks of repeat DUI offenders and has reignited concerns about public safety. Fortunately, the Dziubinski family escaped harm, but their story serves as a reminder of how quickly lives can change. For more Illinois community news, follow ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
