Chicago Weather Update: Cool Fall Air Takes Over Before Weekend Warm-Up

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — After several days of rain and muggy conditions, fall weather has officially arrived in Chicago, bringing cooler air, crisp mornings, and plenty of sunshine through the rest of the week.
According to the National Weather Service Chicago, the cold front that moved through early Tuesday morning will leave behind seasonable fall temperatures, lasting through Friday before a warmer weekend returns.
Cooler Days and Chilly Nights Ahead
Light rain is expected to end early Tuesday, with skies clearing throughout the day.
High temperatures will stay in the mid-60s through Thursday, offering that classic fall feel residents have been waiting for.
Overnight lows will dip into the upper 30s and low 40s, especially in suburban and inland areas, meaning sweater weather has officially arrived.
Forecasters say Wednesday and Thursday will bring bright sunshine and light winds, creating ideal conditions for outdoor activities and fall color viewing.
“Northern Illinois will see clear skies and comfortable air through midweek,” forecasters said. “It’s a textbook example of early October weather.”
