Cincinnati Crash Leaves One Driver Dead While Second Driver Flees the Scene in West Price Hill
CINCINNATI, OHIO — A deadly overnight collision in West Price Hill left one driver dead and another on the run after a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. on West 8th Street, where police say one of the involved drivers fled immediately after the impact.
Deadly Collision Unfolded at West 8th Street and Rosemont Avenue
According to investigators, the crash happened when a 2010 Ford Escape traveling eastbound on West 8th Street struck a 2012 Acura TL heading southbound on Rosemont Avenue.
The driver of the Acura was killed at the scene, officials confirmed.
Police say the driver of the Ford Escape ran from the area on foot, leaving the vehicle behind. A passenger in the Ford was not injured.
Investigators have not yet released the identity of the deceased driver.
Police Investigating Speed and Possible Impairment
Authorities stated that speed and impairment are being investigated as potential contributing factors in the collision.
It remains unclear whether seat belts were being used by any of the occupants at the time of the crash.
The area was closed for several hours as traffic investigators documented the scene, interviewed witnesses, and examined the vehicles involved.
Suspect Still at Large as Investigation Continues
As of Wednesday afternoon, police were still searching for the driver who fled from the Ford Escape. The investigation is ongoing, and officers are urging residents in the area to report any suspicious activity or information that may help locate the suspect.
