Cincinnati Men Charged After Alleged Burglary Spree at Castle & Key Distillery in Kentucky

WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. — Authorities say several men from Cincinnati face charges after a late-night burglary at the Castle & Key Distillery, where suspects allegedly broke into multiple buildings, stole bourbon, and caused thousands in damages.

Burglary at Castle & Key

According to court documents, the incident happened on August 23, 2025, when Christopher Collins, 20; Justin Link, 19; and Gabriel Rinier, 20, all from Cincinnati, entered the distillery grounds carrying a ladder.

Investigators say the men spent several hours roaming the property, targeting multiple buildings, including a private home and a liquor storage trailer.

Property Damage and Stolen Bourbon

Inside the home, the suspects removed and broke a television, causing nearly $800 in damage.

Authorities also reported damage to a delivery truck and noted that a bottle of bourbon was stolen from storage.

When security and police responded, the group attempted to steal a golf cart, damaging the ignition before fleeing in different directions.

Arrests After Attempted Escape

Collins and Link were later found hiding in the woods, while Rinier fled across a river embankment before eventually surrendering.

Two other men were involved in the incident:

  • One was reportedly passed out in a car during the burglary.
  • Another escaped but has since been identified by police, who are gathering evidence for charges.

Charges Filed

Court records show Collins, Link, and Rinier were charged with:

  • Three counts of burglary
  • First-degree criminal mischief
  • Possession of burglary tools

Additional charges include:

  • Collins and Rinier: third-degree fleeing or evading police
  • Rinier: alcohol intoxication in a public place

Bond and Release

All three posted bond within eight days of their arrest:

  • Collins: $15,000 bond
  • Link and Rinier: partially posted $15,000 bonds

As of this week, none of the three remain in custody, according to court records.

This case has drawn attention not only for the damages at one of Kentucky’s well-known bourbon sites but also for the suspects’ attempted escape and unusual behavior during the burglary.
