Cleveland Family Pleads for Answers After Father of Two Killed in July Shooting

CLEVELAND, OHIO – The family of Tremaine Johnson Sr., a father of two and small business owner, is demanding answers nearly two months after he was shot and killed outside a Cleveland apartment complex.
A Life Cut Short
Johnson, who would have celebrated his 38th birthday this month, was discovered dead on July 18 near an apartment complex on Central Avenue. Authorities have ruled his death a homicide, but family members say they have received little information since.
Johnson ran a landscaping business and was described by loved ones as a devoted father to his 10-year-old son and young daughter.
Family’s Frustration With Lack of Information
Relatives say the lack of updates has deepened their grief.
“All we know is that he is dead. We don’t know any details about his murder. We have not seen the autopsy,” said Chardae Johnson, Tremaine’s sister.
His mother, Charlisa Johnson, echoed that frustration. “I don’t even know how many times he got shot. Why won’t you tell us what we need to know so we can move on?”
Call for Justice
Family members say their biggest concern is for Johnson’s children, who are left without their father.
“We all want justice for him. Now my grandsons are fatherless,” Charlisa Johnson added.
The family told 19 News they have repeatedly reached out to the Cleveland Police Department to ask about possible leads, but have not received answers.
“How are we supposed to cope when we don’t know anything?” Chardae Johnson said.
As the investigation continues, the Johnson family is pleading for transparency and justice in the case. For updates on this story and other community news, follow ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
