Driver Hospitalized After Train Strikes Truck in Glenview

GLENVIEW, Illinois — A truck driver was hospitalized early Saturday after their vehicle was struck by a train in downtown Glenview, according to police.

Authorities said the crash occurred just after 4 a.m. on Depot Street, when a train collided with a truck at a rail crossing.
Emergency crews transported the driver to Lutheran General Hospital. While the person’s identity has not been released, police confirmed their condition was stabilized after treatment.
Road Closures and Investigation
In the hours following the crash, several railroad crossings in Glenview were shut down, including:
- Glenview Road
- Dewes Street
- Chestnut Avenue
The closures allowed the Glenview Police Traffic Unit to investigate the collision. All crossings were later reopened once the scene was cleared.
