Florida Man Arrested After Stabbing and Robbing Victim for Urinating Near His Girlfriend, Police Say
HIALEAH, FLORIDA – Police in South Florida say a man’s anger over another man urinating in public near his girlfriend led to a violent stabbing and robbery that nearly turned fatal.
Argument Over “Disrespect” Turns Violent
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Law & Crime, Leonardo Carracedo-King, 30, confronted a man just before midnight on September 13 near the 1000 block of West 71st Street in Hialeah.
Carracedo-King allegedly brandished a large knife and accused the victim of “disrespecting his girlfriend” by urinating in public near her.
A friend of the victim tried to calm the situation, apologizing and even shaking Carracedo-King’s hand. The confrontation ended — or so they thought.
Stabbing in the Parking Lot
Moments later, after the group had returned home, the victim decided to walk to Carracedo-King’s apartment complex to apologize again, carrying a baseball bat for protection after being threatened earlier.
Before reaching the building, he was ambushed by Carracedo-King and another man.
According to police, the suspect’s associate shouted for Carracedo-King to “go and grab the gun” while they followed the victim back to his apartment. As the victim climbed the stairs, one attacker wrestled away the baseball bat, while the other stabbed him multiple times with the knife.
When officers arrived minutes later, they found the victim on his bed, bleeding heavily from multiple stab wounds, including a deep gash to his chest. He was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center in Miami with life-threatening injuries.
Suspect’s Wallet Left Behind
Detectives soon discovered a wallet and cell phone at the scene — both belonging to Carracedo-King.
Surveillance footage also captured two suspects running toward a black Cadillac SUV immediately after the stabbing, with one carrying a knife and the other the baseball bat.
The wallet, vehicle registration, and witness accounts directly tied Carracedo-King to the attack, police said.
Arrest and Charges
Carracedo-King was arrested on October 8 and charged with robbery with a deadly weapon. He has since posted bond and been released from the Miami-Dade County Jail.
Police are still investigating the identity of the second suspect believed to have participated in the assault.
