Former Hudson Teacher Appears in Court on Charges of Sexual Misconduct With Teen Boys'

HUDSON, WISCONSIN — A former Hudson fifth-grade teacher accused of sexual misconduct with multiple teenage boys appeared in court Wednesday as her case continues to move toward trial.

Abigail Faust, 24, is charged in both Wisconsin and Minnesota with crimes involving sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy and his friend. She waived her preliminary hearing in a separate Wisconsin case, allowing prosecutors to proceed without presenting additional evidence at this stage.

Allegations Span Two States

According to court filings, Faust is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy at his family’s home in Minnesota, where she had been working as a nanny, and again at her own home in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Prosecutors allege that she also sent nude photos, solicited explicit images, and later had sexual contact with the boy’s friend, who was also a minor.

Authorities in both states say the alleged sexual activity occurred while Faust was employed as a teacher, raising concerns about potential abuse of authority and trust.

Prosecutors have described the case as “deeply troubling,” noting the overlapping roles of teacher, caregiver, and offender in the allegations.

Waiver Moves Case Toward Trial

By waiving her preliminary hearing, Faust’s case will move directly toward trial without the need for further probable cause testimony. Typically, Wisconsin judges use such hearings to determine whether enough evidence exists for prosecution.

Faust remains free on bond while awaiting her next appearance in St. Croix County Circuit Court, scheduled for October 30.

She also faces felony charges in Minnesota, where the alleged assault took place while she was caring for the teen at his family’s home.

Co-Defendant and Separate Case

Faust’s case has drawn additional attention because another former Hudson teacher, Madison Bergmann, was charged in a separate case involving sexual contact with a fifth-grade student.

Bergmann pleaded guilty two weeks ago to child sexual misconduct and is scheduled to be sentenced on December 19. Both women resigned from the Hudson School District following their arrests earlier this year.

Ongoing Legal Proceedings

If convicted, Faust could face substantial prison time and permanent placement on the sex offender registry. Prosecutors from both states are expected to coordinate their cases as the investigations continue.

Officials say the charges highlight the importance of safeguarding minors in educational and caregiving environments, emphasizing that all allegations of misconduct involving school personnel are taken seriously.
