Former Kentucky School Employee Wanted After Alleged Sexual Relationship With Student, Police Say

BEREA, KENTUCKY — Police are searching for a former Berea Community School employee accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a student and later fleeing after admitting to parts of the allegations, according to the Berea Police Department.
Authorities say 34-year-old Samantha Walker, a former teacher’s aide and bus monitor, is now wanted on multiple felony sex crime charges, including:
- Use of a minor in a sexual performance
- First-degree sexual abuse
- Third-degree rape
- Third-degree sodomy
- Tampering with physical evidence
- Distribution of obscene matter to minors
Investigation Began After School Officials Raised Concerns
The investigation began in June 2025 when Berea school administrators reported concerns about Walker’s conduct with a student. According to police records, the victim told investigators that a romantic relationship developed between the two while Walker was employed at the school.
The student’s detailed account prompted police to launch a full investigation, during which Walker was interviewed by detectives. Officers say Walker admitted to portions of the allegations, confirming that some of the student’s claims were true.
Walker Taken Into Custody, Then Listed as Wanted
Walker was initially taken into custody in July, but police later listed her as wanted after she allegedly failed to appear or comply with court proceedings. As of Monday, Berea police continue to search for her whereabouts and are asking the public for help locating her.
“We urge anyone with information on Samantha Walker’s location to contact the Berea Police Department,” officials said. “She is wanted in connection with serious charges involving a student victim.”
Authorities have not released additional details about the age of the victim but confirmed that the alleged crimes occurred while Walker was employed by Berea Community School.
Community Reaction and Ongoing Case
The case has sparked outrage within the Berea community, where many parents expressed concern over how someone in a trusted school position could take advantage of a student.
Law enforcement officials say the investigation remains active and that additional charges could be filed depending on evidence recovered from digital devices and communications.
Anyone with information on Walker’s location is urged to contact the Berea Police Department at (859) 624-4776.
