Kansas City Weather: Morning Rain Clears, Sunshine and Warmer Days Ahead

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI — Showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to move out of the Kansas City area by late morning, giving residents a taste of cooler, fall-like weather before warmer temperatures return later in the week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Kansas City.
The system bringing early morning rain will shift east by midday, with skies clearing steadily and conditions improving through the afternoon.
Rain Ends, Cooler Air Moves In
Forecasters said rain will taper off from west to east through mid-morning Tuesday. Cloud cover will gradually decrease, leading to sunshine and mild afternoon highs around 68°F.
By Wednesday, temperatures are expected to rise to the mid-70s, continuing into the upper 70s by Thursday and reaching low 80s by Friday.
“Dry and cooler conditions follow up the rain, making it feel much more fall-like out there,” NWS meteorologists said. “However, these temperatures only last for the next three days before warming back up to above normal.”
Midweek Forecast Highlights
- Tuesday: Early rain, clearing skies by midday, high near 68°F.
- Wednesday: Mostly sunny, high 74°F.
- Thursday: Mild and clear, high 73°F.
- Friday: Warm and dry, highs near 81°F.
The short-term cooldown will offer a refreshing break before a weekend warm-up returns, with sunshine dominating most of the week.
Weekend Outlook: Sunny and Warm
As the region transitions toward the weekend, forecasters expect temperatures to climb above seasonal averages, returning to the low 80s by Saturday.
No additional rainfall is expected for the remainder of the week, giving residents a chance to enjoy several dry and pleasant days for outdoor activities.
Drivers should note wet roads during the morning commute, but conditions will improve by midday as the rain exits the area.
After a soggy start to the week, Kansas City can look forward to sunshine, mild breezes, and a weekend warm-up. For more Midwest weather updates and local forecasts, visit ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
