Kenosha Man Arrested for 5th OWI After Late-Night Traffic Stop in Racine County
RACINE COUNTY, WISCONSIN — A 26-year-old Kenosha man was arrested late Friday night after allegedly driving under the influence for the fifth time, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Officials said that just before 10:30 p.m. on November 7, troopers received a report of a possibly intoxicated driver traveling along County Highway KR.
Trooper Observes Erratic Driving
A responding trooper located the vehicle a short time later and observed it weaving within its lane, prompting a traffic stop.
When the trooper approached the car, the driver displayed multiple signs of impairment, according to the WSP news release.
After conducting standardized field sobriety tests, the trooper arrested the man for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) — 5th offense.
Additional Charges and Investigation
Authorities said charges will also be referred for possession of THC, indicating possible marijuana found during the stop. The driver’s name has not yet been released pending formal charges.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said this latest arrest serves as a reminder of its continued focus on removing repeat impaired drivers from state roadways to protect the public.
