BEAUMONT, TEXAS — A fugitive from Kentucky was captured in Chambers County after leading deputies on a foot chase along Interstate 10, where he was eventually found hiding in a wooded area thanks to a K9 unit.
Officials say Jamickeal Linzer fled on September 30 when deputies attempted to arrest him on an outstanding probation violation warrant from Kentucky. The chase began after deputies stopped a vehicle near the 807 mile marker on westbound I-10 near Wallisville, according to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office.
Fugitive Located After Running Into Wooded Area
Linzer, who was a passenger in the stopped vehicle, took off on foot as deputies tried to take him into custody. Law enforcement quickly deployed a K9 officer to track him.
The police dog successfully located Linzer in a wooded area near the highway, where he was subdued and arrested. Deputies reported that Linzer suffered minor dog-bite injuries, which were treated before he was transported to the Chambers County Jail.

Authorities confirmed that Linzer now faces:
- Two counts of evading arrest

Officials did not disclose what initially prompted the traffic stop or how deputies discovered Linzer’s outstanding warrant.
