Kentucky Man Arrested in Decatur Hotel Drug Bust After Joint Investigation
DECATUR, Ala. — A Kentucky man is facing serious drug charges after being arrested during a joint investigation led by the Decatur Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Hotel Raid Leads to Arrest
On Thursday, September 18, narcotics units from both agencies executed a search warrant at a hotel near 6th Avenue NE and Wilson Street NE in Decatur.
Inside, investigators found Eric Wayne Melton, 53, of Kentucky. A search of the room uncovered approximately 7.5 ounces of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.
Charges and Bond
Melton was arrested and booked into the Morgan County Jail. He has been charged with:
- Trafficking in illegal drugs
- Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia
He is currently being held on a $5,300 bond.
