Kentucky Motorcyclist Dies in Nashville Crash Involving Multiple Vehicles
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — A 26-year-old Kentucky motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 24 in South Nashville on Friday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Officials identified the victim as Terrell Robins Jr. of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He was riding a Suzuki motorcycle when the accident occurred near the Haywood Lane exit.
Crash Details
Investigators initially believed four vehicles were involved, but later clarified the wreck included two motorcycles and a sedan.
Authorities said a Nissan Versa driver lost control of the car, swerving and striking a Honda motorcycle operated by a 20-year-old man from Georgia. Robins’ Suzuki motorcycle then crashed into the back of the Nissan.
Both motorcyclists were wearing helmets at the time of the collision, and police confirmed no drivers showed signs of impairment.
Victims Transported to Hospital
Robins was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
The 20-year-old Georgia motorcyclist was also taken to Vanderbilt and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
Ongoing Investigation
Metro Nashville Police said the crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the precise chain of events leading to the deadly collision.
The wreck caused delays on I-24 as crews worked to clear the scene late Friday night.
