Kentucky Police Hunt for Woman Accused in Grocery Store Stabbing That Left Man Hospitalized
MORGAN COUNTY, KENTUCKY — The Kentucky State Police are searching for a woman accused of stabbing a man during an altercation at a local grocery store Tuesday afternoon.
According to KSP, officers responded to a call around 1:40 p.m. at Betty’s Grocery in the Moon community of Morgan County, where they found a man suffering from a cut to the inside of his leg.
The victim, identified as 46-year-old Robert Jones, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Suspect Identified, Arrest Warrant Issued
Investigators have identified the suspect as Alliana “Jade” Gevedon, 35, of West Liberty, and an arrest warrant has been issued for her.
Authorities say Gevedon fled the scene before police arrived. Detectives believe she may still be in the Morgan or West Liberty area.
“We’re asking anyone who knows where Alliana ‘Jade’ Gevedon is to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 8 in Morehead,” officers said in a statement.
KSP has not released details about what led to the stabbing, but witnesses told police the incident began as a verbal dispute that escalated quickly.
Victim Expected to Recover
Police said Jones is recovering from his injuries and has been cooperating with investigators. Officers continue to gather witness statements and review surveillance footage from the store.
Residents in the Moon and West Liberty areas are urged to remain alert and report any sightings of the suspect.
